IV / VIOLENCE FEEDS THE WELL
Wellspring
Draw power from the fight. Decide what the party can sustain.
- Nearby bloodied creatures
- Enemy deaths
- Charges & auras
How the class finds its strength.
01 / GATHER
Stay close to the fighting.
Gain charges when nearby creatures first become bloodied and when nearby enemies die. Income comes from those events, rather than from every point of damage.
02 / SUSTAIN
Keep useful auras alive.
Charges support auras around the party. Mending heals; Ferocity strengthens damage. Maintaining more auras raises the ongoing cost.
03 / RESPOND
Spend for the moment.
Draught offers direct healing. An immediate response and long-term aura upkeep draw on the same supply, so you must judge what the fight can fund.
Sustain an aura, add more upkeep, or spend on an immediate draught?
The Wellspring’s support and charge income share a radius. The party moves together, so proximity to the encounter matters. Sustaining too much support can exhaust the reserve between useful income events.
AN ILLUSTRATIVE ENCOUNTER
A steady aura or a timely draught?
Your support is active, but an ally needs an immediate heal. A draught can answer that moment, while spending charges you also need for upkeep. Nearby enemies becoming bloodied or falling can replenish the well; a quiet stretch cannot promise the same income.
A starting plan.
Start with a direct response to a vulnerable ally, then maintain the auras the encounter can afford. Treat an extra aura as an extra commitment, especially when the source of charges is slowing down.
Your tactics are ordered priorities, not a fixed script. The first available rule with a valid target and satisfied conditions wins. Explore how tactics work.
Your kind of class?
