How the class finds its strength.
01 / COMMIT
Choose an approach.
Precision concentrates on a single target. Sweep spreads strikes across nearby enemies. Your stance shapes what the next actions can achieve.
02 / BUILD
Establish your marks.
Strikes leave marks associated with that stance. Staying with the pattern gives its abilities more to work with.
03 / ADAPT
Change with purpose.
Changing stance leaves old marks behind. They keep expiring and become useful again if you return to their original stance; the new stance needs its own setup.
Keep building the current stance, or change to meet a new threat?
The encounter does not promise to stay convenient. A target can fall, a new threat can arrive, or old marks can expire while you work in another stance. Changing your plan has a real cost in time and setup.
AN ILLUSTRATIVE ENCOUNTER
One dangerous target—or a crowded fight?
Precision gives you a reason to keep working on one enemy. A new group may make Sweep more useful, even though your existing Precision marks will not help it. The decision is whether the new approach is worth interrupting your current buildup.
A starting plan.
Give the stance a coherent set of priorities. A mark-building action such as Feint can prepare an advantage for Thrust. Use conditions to decide when setup is worthwhile and when the party needs immediate pressure.
Your tactics are ordered priorities, not a fixed script. The first available rule with a valid target and satisfied conditions wins. Explore how tactics work.
Your kind of class?
Choose the Master if you enjoy committing to a pattern and judging the moment when a different approach earns its cost.
