How the class finds its strength.
01 / LEARN
Choose your elements.
Begin with two elements and later choose a third. The fourth remains outside the build, so each Elementalist has gaps as well as strengths.
02 / LEAVE
Set the next spell up.
Fire leaves Burning, Water leaves Soaked, Earth leaves Fractured, and Air leaves Unsteady. That residue creates an opportunity for a different element.
03 / CONNECT
Consume the opening.
The next element in the ring uses the previous element’s residue for an added effect. Spells still work without the matching residue, but miss the chain bonus.
THE ELEMENTAL RING
Every element leaves an opening.

Which spell prepares the opening your next action can use?
A perfect sequence on paper needs time, a suitable target, and the elements your build actually knows. Sometimes an immediate spell is worth more than completing the ring.
AN ILLUSTRATIVE ENCOUNTER
Ember into Douse.
Ember leaves Burning on the target. Douse can use that residue for its additional effect. If the target falls before Douse arrives, the setup no longer helps you; if no Burning is present, Douse still has its ordinary effect.
A starting plan.
Prioritize a useful follow-up when its matching residue is present, then the spell that starts your sequence. Keep the target in mind: a chain only helps when the next spell can reach the enemy that carries the setup.
Your tactics are ordered priorities, not a fixed script. The first available rule with a valid target and satisfied conditions wins. Explore how tactics work.
